Guide Review - Macromedia Dreamweaver 8

Professional Web designers and developers need look no further to find the perfect Web authoring tool. Dreamweaver 8 offers support for modern browsers and standards and makes it easy for you to get your site up to speed with those technologies. In fact, the biggest drawback to Dreamweaver 8 is that it is so complex that amateur Web designers will find it overwhelming. There is a lot to learn and use in Dreamweaver 8 and unless you're willing to take the time, it can be a steep learning curve.

Dreamweaver continues to produce good clean XHTML code without a lot of extraneous tags and special codes. In code-view, Dreamweaver offers color-coding and code formatting similar to the Code Sweeper in Homesite. In design-view, Dreamweaver provides more visual cues for layout and design elements so that CSS is easier to review and update quickly.

Dreamweaver Photo Album/ Picture Gallery

In this tutorial you will learn how to create a complete web photo album in Dreamweaver within minutes! The photo album will contain thumbnails that when clicked on will show the larger size of the pictures with navigation to go forward or backward to view the entire album. A web photo album can be used to showcase products, portfolios, art and photography galleries and more. Examples of web photo albums we designed and developed can be seen at NWFloridaland.com and Sunbeam4Kids.com. Click on the images thumbnails to navigate between the pictures.

Setting up your ColdFusion MX application serve

Whether you are developing your project single-handedly or collaborating with a team of people, you need to set up a development environment before you begin using Macromedia Studio MX to build your web pages. At the most basic level, your development environment will consist of a web server, an application server, and a Macromedia Dreamweaver MX site.

This tutorial describes how to configure your system to build web applications in Dreamweaver MX. This tutorial is the fifth in a series of Macromedia Studio MX tutorials that teach you how to plan, design, create, and deploy a fully-functional website. To see all of the tutorials in the series, visit the Macromedia Studio MX page on the Macromedia Dreamweaver Support Center. A complete list of tutorials is also available at the Macromedia Designer and Developer Center.

Inserting Fireworks HTML into Dreamweaver

Got Adobe Fireworks and Dreamweaver?  Did you know there is a way to integrate the two, but just don't know how?  This Dreamweaver and Fireworks tutorial will tell you exactly what to do.

1.  In this tutorial we are going to insert a table that was created in Fireworks (be sure to check out the Fireworks tutorial on Creating a Navigation Bar). Once we have inserted the Fireworks HTML into our Dreamweaver document, we will add the corresponding links using the Point-to-File method we learned about in an earlier tutorial.
