Domain Name Registration 11
DNS Namespace Planning
The recommended approach to DNS design in an Active Directory environment is to design the Active Directory environment first and then support that design with the DNS structure. However, in some cases, the DNS namespace may already be in place. In such a configuration, the Active Directory environment should be designed independently and then implemented either as a totally separate namespace or as a subdomain of the existing namespace. If the namespace you choose already exists on the Internet, it may cause name resolution problems for internal clients.

Consider the following items:

Small Business Tips for Choosing Domain Names

Choosing a domain name can be daunting. Research the subject (after all, you're the type of marketer who researches, right?) and you'll be hit with a landslide of opinions, most contradictory. There are, however, two points that everyone agrees on:

Pick your domain before you launch your business. This is especially true if your market niche has lots of competition. Research your domain before you commit to a business plan.

Don't wait too long if you like a domain. While you're researching, you'll likely come across a couple of domains that attract you. You might be tempted to wait, since you haven't finalized or refined your business plan. Don't. A handful of domains isn't going to cost you much at an affordable registrar like GoDaddy, and once they're gone, they're gone. Chances are you can even resell the rejects at cost, if not a profit. Or "develop" them with unique content and point them to your main site for extra traffic.

Build and Maintain Your Website

In order to build a website you will need some web site building software, such as: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe GoLive, or Microsoft FrontPage. These programs help you to build a website without needing to know too much HTML (programming code.) Or, if your find a web host with a good site builder you can create your site online with the web hosts site building software. Online site builders are usually best for small or personal websites, or websites that need to be built and posted in a hurry. If you would like a complex or custom website invest in some software. (Or pay for a web designer and theyll build a website for you!

Internationalized Domain Name

Historically an Internet domain names contain ASCII symbols only. But lately the number of those users who want to use Unicode characters when registering their domain names increased steeply. But domain name resolving system does not allow to apply Unicode characters.

Internationalizing Domain Names in Applications (IDNA) was adopted as the chosen standard and has a purpose to convert Unicode characters into standard ASCII domain names and thus preserve the stability of the domain name system.
