Photoshop / Web Designing 1
 What is Adobe Photoshop?

Adobe Photoshop, or simply Photoshop, is a graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Systems. It is the current market leader for commercial bitmap and image manipulation, and is the flagship product of Adobe Systems. It has been described as "an industry standard for graphics professionals" and was one of the early "killer applications" on Macintosh.

What is the new features of Adobe Photoshop CS3?

Photoshop CS3, was released on 16 April 2007. "CS" reflects its integration with other Creative Suite products, and the number "3" represents it as the third version released since Adobe re-branded its products under the CS umbrella. Photoshop CS3 features additions such as the ability to apply non-destructive filters, as well as new selection tools named Quick Selection and Refine Edge that make selection more streamlined. On April 30th, Adobe released Photoshop CS3 Extended, which includes all the same features of Adobe Photoshop CS3 with the addition of capabilities for scientific imaging, 3D, and high end film and video users.

What is the new features of Adobe Photoshop?

Photoshop can utilize the color models RGB, lab, CMYK, grayscale, binary bitmap, and duotone. Photoshop has the ability to read and write raster and vector image formats such as: .EPS, .PNG, .GIF, .JPEG, Fireworks, etc. It also has several native file formats:

  • The .PSD (Photoshop Document) format stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop. These include layers with masks, color spaces, ICC profiles, transparency, text, alpha channels and spot colors, Clipping paths, and duotone settings. This is in contrast to many other file formats (e.g. .EPS or .GIF) that restrict content to provide streamlined, predictable functionality. Photoshop's popularity means that the .PSD format is widely used, and it is supported to some extent by most competing software.
  • The .PSB (Photoshop Big) format is a newer version of .PSD designed for files over 2 gigabytes.
  • The .PDD (PhotoDeluxe Document) format is a version of .PSD that only supports the features found in the discontinued PhotoDeluxe software.
What is the difference between adobe photoshop cs2 and adobe photoshop 3?

The difference is of added features like

Smart Filters Nondestructive Smart Filters allow you to visualize changes without altering original pixel data.
Advanced compositing Create more accurate composites by automatically aligning multiplephotoshop layers or images based on similar content.
Better raw image processing Process raw images with increased speed and superior conversion quality using the Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in, which now adds support for JPEG and TIFF formats; new tools including Fill Light and Dust Busting; compatibility with Adobe Photoshop LightroomT software; and support for over 150 camera models.

Is it possible in Adobe Acrobat Professional to convert something to a booklet format?

Its not really meant to format anything to look like a booklet, but what WOULD, would be Adobe Indesign. Indesign is adobe's page layout program. It is highly powerful, creates great results, is fairly intuative to use, and easy to learn.

Why is a jpeg file better than a psd for displaying an image on the web?

Photoshop designed the PSD image file format for graphic artists. Since Graphic Artists want their work to be very good quality, PSD was designed to support quality over small file size.

JPEG was designed to be compressable and to retain some quality even when compressed. This has made it ideal for the Internet as you can get a near-photo-quality picture online without the huge resource requirements for PSD files.

How do you save an animation in Photoshop CS3?

You can use Photoshop Extended to edit individual frames of video and image sequence files. In addition to using any Photoshop tool to edit and paint on video, you can also apply filters, masks, transformations, layers styles, and blending modes. After making edits, you can save the document as a PSD file (that can be played back in other Adobe applications such as Premiere Pro and After Effects or accessed as a static file in other applications), or you can render it as a QuickTime movie or image sequence.

What the fastest way to learn Adobe Illustrator CS3? Can anyone suggest any good books or other learning strategies?

Not sure if this will work for you, but I usually learn new software by taking an afternoon and just playing around with it until I get a feel for the application and how it works. Does it come with tutorials? I know some Adobe products include them.
I would imagine the quickest way to learn would be to take some sort of course for the program, you can find them online however they are not cheap. I believe you can also find learning CD's which may be more affordable and less time constructive
