Photoshop / Web Designing 3
For photoshop is cs3 really that much better than cs2 on an Intel Mac?

On both the Photoshop CS works fine. But on Mac it seems to speed up faster. The startup is much faster than on windows but relative to the velocity of the CS2, it indeed is faster. So yes, photoshop cs3 is better at functioning on an intel mac rater than cs2, due to the faster startup.

In photoshop when working with landscape photos, how can I straighten out crooked horizons and horizons that drop off at the ends through the use of wide angle lenses?

The easiest way is to rotate the whole photo and then crop out the blank edges. You will lose a little bit of the photo but it will look nice.

In photoshop can you convert psds to JPGs in Photoshop 7 in a batch operation? If so, how?

Yes.Basically, put all the PSDs you want to convert in one folder and create a new folder for the output JPGs, then create a simple action that reads a file from the PSD folder and writes a JPG to the new folder.

You can also perform other actions at the same time, like resizing, autolevels, sharpening, etc.

Can someone walk me through the Color Settings dialogue box?

To understand the Photoshop Color Settings dialogue box and learn how images are affected by the various choices that are available

 Replace color with White?

You can try using the "select color" instead of hue and saturation. Select the red and start subtracting all colors except black. Then select nuetrals and do the same. Then
select white etc. This will help if you want to maintain any shading in the "chair".
If you path the chair and delete it' you lose any shading
and what from the image. I hope this helps.

How we can create Photoshop Natural Looking Colored Pencils?

the best way to color a black and white ink drawing in photoshop and make it look like it was done with color pencils

Dana from CA' USA' using Photoshop 7.0 with PC' writes in with:

[Quote:] Hi I'm trying to figure out the best way to color a black and white ink drawing in photoshop and make it look like it was done with color pencils. I've tried applying a series of filters once I've applied regular one color fills- but that was too flat looking. Then I went in and working with opacity levels managed to get some more depth with shades of colors- then once I had all that one one layer I applied the smudge stick' grain texture' sprayed stroke' and rough pastel filters one after the other. This whole process was really time consuming. Is there anyother way you can suggest to complete this task faster? OR is there an easier way to get the right effect?

Photoshop 911:

The best way is to select an appropriate brush shape' and begin stroking and hatching in the color just as if you were actually coloring with colored pencils. It's really fun and easy.

Once you have strokes in place' you'll find the colored pencil filter looks much more realistic.
