Enterprise Information System Tier

The enterprise information system tier handles EIS software and includes enterprise infrastructure systems such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), mainframe transaction processing, database systems, and other legacy information systems. XmlAuthenticator

The XmlAuthenticator (com.caucho.serer.security.XmlAuthenticator), stores the authentication in either an xml file or in the configuration itself.

When configuring the XmlAuthenticator in the resin.conf (or web.xml), each user adds a new configured user. The value contains the username, password, and the roles the user plays.

Understanding Struts Controller

In this section I will describe you the Controller part of the Struts Framework. I will show you how to configure the struts-config.xml file to map the request to some destination servlet or jsp file.

If you have a group of at least eight interested developers (10 for courses outside the US or Canada), contact Marty to arrange a course at your location. If you have fewer developers, see the public JSF training course page for info on the open-enrollment version in Maryland.

A Servlet that Generates HTML

Most servlets generate HTML, not plain text as in the previous example. To do that, you need two additional steps: tell the browser that you're sending back HTML, and modify the println statements to build a legal Web page. The first step is done by setting the Content-Type response header. In general, headers can be set via the setHeader method of HttpServletResponse, but setting the content type is such a common task that there is also a special setContentType method just for this purpose. Note that you need to set response headers before actually returning any of the content via the PrintWriter. Here's an example:
